Adopter Home Visit

Please do not do a home check for an applicant that you have a social or business relationship with; we want to ensure there is no conflict of interest.

All humans and animals living in the home MUST be present during the home visit. Always take a pug to a home visit; please do not take a dog that is younger and/or healthier than what they applied for.

Please include any additional observations beyond just Yes or No. Please include any photos that you deem important or areas of the home you have concerns about. Assure the family that the photos will only be shared internally.

Do NOT tell the applicant whether they're approved. Let them know that you will submit their info to the adoption team and someone will be in touch.

Note: Some homes may not be appropriate for certain dogs. For example, for dogs that may wail or bark, attached homes or apartments would not be a good fit. Small spaces with no outdoor area may not be good for a very active pug. A home with many stairs would not be good for a visually impaired or senior pug.
